Project title: Integrated controller-mechanism co-design for energy efficient elastic robots

Host Institution: Technical University of Munich (TUM)

Host Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Sami Haddadin

Co-host Institution: École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)

Co-host Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Aude Billard

Summary project: Dr. Hugo T. M. Kussaba obtained his M.Sc. (2014) and Ph.D. (2018) in Engineering of Electronic Systems and Automation from the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil. His main research interest is applications of hybrid dynamical systems to robotics and control. Currently, Dr. Hugo T. M. Kussaba is an EuroTech Postdoc2 Fellow at MIRMI, supervised by  Prof. Sami Haddadin (TUM) and Prof. Aude Billard (EPFL). His research work will explore computational frameworks for building and controlling intelligent articulated elastic robots that are both energy-efficient and accurate enough to be safely employed in future manufacturing and human-centered scenarios.
